Speech
about lets visit West Kalimantan 2017. This speech was delivered by Savanah Fadela
Madinah contestant number 10. West Kalimantan or we known as West Borneo, it is
located on Borneo Island of Indonesia. We can divide tourism by three parts,
the first one is water tourism the second is natural tourism and the third is
culinary tourism.
West Kalimantan has a capital city which is Pontianak. Pontianak
has a lot of interesting things there are Kapuas River, Equator Monument and
Traditional House. In Kapuas River you can enjoy the beautiful view of Kapuas
River by going along the boat it is very beautiful at noon and at night. There
is also The Equator Monument you can see many artifacts of Pontianak history
just by going to The Equator Monument. If you want to go to cultural places you
should try visiting traditional house such as Malay House, Betang House, Radakng
House taking a small look of Dayak and Malay culture based on The Houses.
For
water tourism singkawang is your place there are so many beautiful beaches and
beautiful view of the sea just by sightseeing, there are Pasir Panjang beach, Tanjung
Gundul Beach, and Kura-Kura Beach etc. Not so far from Singkawang riding on a
two hours speedboat you will reach Randayan Island. In Randayan you will get to
see an amazing beach and a glorious view of the Chinese Sea. You can try
snorkeling, diving, surfing and other sea activities.
For natural tourism we
have four national Parks two of them Palung Mountain National Park at North
Kayong and The Betung Karihun Park at Kapuas Hulu. When you visit a National
Park you will see you will find a wildlife a natural life of Kalimantan Forest
surrounded by unique plants and a lot of orangutan. Every year we have many
festival, such as Robo-Robo for Islamic new year Cap Go Meh for Chinese new
year and Meriam Karbit for Ramadhan.
For culinary tourism you should try our
delicious cuisine at every regency we have bubur pedas, asam pedas, tempoyak,
sotong pangkong and beverages made from aloevera leaves West Kalimantan has a
lot of interesting things spectacular things to see, to find, and to look at.
